Unveiling & Dedication: The unveiling of the memorial tablet was presented during a special Homecoming Ceremony at Hawfields Presbyterian Church on June 4, 1922 along with the unveiling of the bronze founders and pastors tablet.

Subject notes: The tablet memorialized deceased former slaves who not only faithfully served their masters but also became members of the Hawfields Presbyterian Church.
